Shoaib Akhtar sharing funny incident about Rahul Dravid

December 28, 2016
Shoaib Akhtar always had funny stories to share from his international cricket career. He has played cricket against all the sides in the world. He has a lot of cricketers as his friends. So he knows a lot of things which normal people don’t know about cricketers.

Shoaib shared the latest one about Indian test batsman, the wall of India Rahul Dravid. Shoaib said that he and Rahul Dravid went to Australia once to play World Series. He and Rahul were in the rest of the world team and they played three ODI games against Australia.
VIDEO LINK
Shoaib said that before the start of the series Rahul came to him and asked him to bowl him in the nets for practice. Shoaib went with him in the nets. Now Rahul Dravid told him to him length balls. Shoaib bowled six length balls to him. After completing the six balls practice spell, Shoaib went to Dravid and told him that he should practice short balls. Shoaib told Dravid that no one in the Australian team will bowl him length balls. There will hardly a few which he will face.
So he should practice short balls which will come near his rib cage. Rahul Dravid replied to Shoaib that already he is low in confidence and Shoaib’s words have not helped him a little bit. When Shoaib narrated this incident every one laughed really loud.
This was pretty hilarious for sure. The Asian players always feel difficulties in facing Australian on Australian tracks. The reason is the bounce. Gabba and Perth offer a lot of bounce. Also MCG and other grounds have got significant bounce and that puts the Asian players in problems. This is the reason that Asian side have hardly won a test series in Australia.
Winning an ODI or a t2 game or even a series is not that tough. Limited overs cricket is far different than the test cricket. Test cricket is a test of your nerves, technique and temperament. You have to be a quality player or a fast learner to adapt into test cricket. There are not many names who are good in all three formats. The rule is simple if your are a good test player then surely you are a good ODI and T20 player. But if you’re a good ODI or t20 player than this does not mean your are a good test player. Shoaib said that the bounce is the major issue in Australia. This bounce is something which only the bowlers can enjoy and no one else.

Sarfraz gets a fifty in Australia, 1st test 2016

December 18, 2016
Finally a moment of relief for the Pakistan wicket keeper batsman. He has scored his first fifty in Australia and this was a really good innings from the little man. Sarfraz Ahmad scored 59 runs. This is the only fifty after Moin Khan scored in 1999 as Pakistan’s wicket keeper batsman against Australia. Sarfraz played really well. He attacked the Aussie bowlers and made sure that he did not give them space to attack him back. He was busy in hitting the ball in the gaps and taking down his single and doubles. Sarfraz ran a lot between the wickets as well. Sarfraz first boundary came down to deep third man. Starc went over the wicket and bowled a good ball outside the off stumps. Sarfraz just showed the ball an angled bat and got his opening account of boundaries. He wanted to something.Sarfraz then swept Lyon with every ounce of power in his body. This ball spun after pitching and Sarfraz sweep was ready to counter it. He hit this one from the middle and the ball raced away to the fence. Sarfraz really played this one well. After this he played a pedal sweet the off spinner. This time again Sarfraz was in a commanding position. He let the ball come at him and used the pace on this one. The ball hit the bat and raced away to the fence at deep fine leg. The fourth boundary for him was again against Starc. This was a short ball outside the off stump and Sarfraz just cut this one over the infield. The ball hit the middle and went over point fielder. Once it crossed the ring there was no one stopping it from smashing onto the ropes. Sarfraz then got a very lucky chance. He was dropped by Madison in the deep. This was the typical slog sweep shot from Sarfraz against Bird. The ball did hit the meaty part of the bat but the long boundary became to long for Sarfraz to cover. Maddison was stationed on the leg side for this. He ran to his right and did cover a good distance to reach under the ball but at the last moment he spoiled the catch. The ball hit his hands and then went over to cross the fence. This was a much needed chance for Sarfraz. He deserved a fifty for the way he played today. He soon got to his fifty. Mohammad Amir gave him a good hand with the bat.

Australia fall of wickets, 2nd innings 1st test vs Pakistan

December 17, 2016
Australia has declared their second innings after losing 5 wickets. Pakistan now has to make 490 runs to win this game. It is a very tough score for Pakistan especially when they have got a very fragile batting line up. Australia in a commanding position here.

Australia lost their first 5 batters today after they did not enforce follow on against Pakistan. They batted again and now they have given Pakistan a big total to chase. Amir, Wahab, Rahat and Yasir all picked up wickets in the second innings.

Warner was the first wicket to fell for Australia. This was a short ball outside the off stump from the left arm pace bowler Amir. Warner went to pull this one on the leg side and failed. He was not behind the line and length of the ball. The ball climbed onto him and Warner could not manage this one properly. The ball hit the top half and went as one of the easiest catch for Wahab. He took this one with ease. Then Rahat Ali joined the action taking down Renshaw in the slips.

This was the best ball from Pakistani bowlers in the whole match. It was pitched fuller and towards the pads. At the last moment the ball swung away from the left hander. It hit the outside edge of the bat and Younis Khan took this one down in the second slip. Fantastic ball from Rahat Ali and a good neat catch from Younis. Smith was the third wicket for Pakistan. The Australian captain continued showing his good form with the bat. After hitting the fifty he chipped this one straight to long on.

Smith Wanted to hit the ball on the leg side. The ball was a flighted one and Smith used his feet to just drive this one through the leg side. Now the idea was right here but Smith fumbled with the execution. The ball hit the outside edge of the bat and went high in the air towards Rahat Ali at long on. Khawaja was caught brilliant by Misbah off Rahat. This was a stunning piece of fielding from the Pakistani skipper. He hit the dive at the right time and pluck this catch to his left. The ball was flying away from him and hence Misbah had to really judge this one perfectly. Maddison was the fifth wicket to fall. He was caught on the leg side deep by Babar Azam. Wahab Riaz picked him up and that was the end of the Australian innings as well.

Shahid Afridi powerful hitting in Pakistan domestic T20 match

December 13, 2016
Shahid Afridi has not played much domestic cricket in Pakistan. Most of the times he either preferred to give himself rest while other times he was busy in playing foreign leagues. Here we see him batting in a domestic T20 game.

Afridi played 18 balls in this match against Peshawar team and smashed a match winning innings of 49 runs. It was unfortunate that he could not get to his fifty. But Afridi surely gave his Karachi side the match. There was a series of sixes and fours hit by Afridi.

CA XI fall of wickets, 2nd Innings VS Pakistan 2016

December 10, 2016
Pakistan team has done well in the opening practice game of their Australian tour. They have defeated the Cricket Australia XI in the three day and night game. It is a massive win for Pakistan and will definitely boost their confidence. The bowling from Pakistan was extra ordinary and the way they have wrapped up the Australian side will give the national side some troubles. Amir, Rahat and Wahab Riaz were excellent in the first and second innings. But the rise of Nawaz in the second innings was the big plus for Pakistan.

Nawaz took three wickets in the second innings. He bowled well despite not getting huge spin from the wicket. This is a really good sign for Pakistan as almost all their major bowlers have taken wickets in this day and night game.
Rahat Ali picked the first wicket of the second innings for Pakistan. Pierson who was bowled out by Amir in the first innings was trapped lbw by Rahat this time. Again the late inswing from Rahat caused him all sorts of troubles.
Pierson wanted to hit the ball on the leg side but he was outplayed here by the swing. The ball hit the pads and the umpire did not take long to raise his finger. Amir then trapped Bosisto lbw in the next over. He was bowled by Amir in the first innings, here he was adjourned lbw.
The CA XI skipper was livid with himself but thee was hardly he could do about the way Amir took him out. After that the wickets kept coming for Pakistan. The best of them was the run out which Asad Shafiq made. It was an incredible one.
Call it from the family of that Bavuma run out against Warner in the test series between Australia and South Africa. Asad was standing at mid-on when the batsman hit the ball towards him by going onto his back foot. Asad flashed towards the ball and picked it up and threw it under arm towards the stumps at bowling end. The accuracy from Asad was brilliant here. He aimed the stumps and the batsman was short of his crease when the ball hit the stumps. Now only this but Asad also took a great catch as well against of the Australian batters. This was a really good catch and it gave Nawaz his third wicket. Pakistan won the game by 202 runs which is a massive moment for them.

Amir 3 wickets against CA XI, practice match 2016

December 08, 2016
Mohammad Amir has given Pakistan a fantastic start to the Australian tour. Though only with the ball because Pakistan won the toss in their first warm up game and decided to bat first only to make 208 runs on board. Yes there was another batting collapse from Pakistan and there was just Younis Khan who hit a fifty rest there was hardly anything to talk about. Good to see Mohammad Amir getting wickets with the new ball. He was under pressure over his performances in test format.

Amir first picked up Pierson. This was the first ball of the innings and it was a ripper from Amir. The ball was shaped back into the right hander and this one went in between the bat and pad of the batsman. Pierson was not behind the ball at all.
On the very next ball Bosisto went out lbw to Amir. This was another in swinger and Bosisto tried to play this one on the leg side and failed. The ball hit the pads of the batter and Amir knew it was very close. He made a huge appeal and the umpire raised his finger.
The first two balls gave Pakistan and Amir two wickets. After that later he picked up his third wicket as well. Winter was bowled the same way Pierson was. This ball again came back in and hit the wickets. Fantastic bowling from Amir here.
Amir was under pressure as the fans in Pakistan started posting questions on his performances in the test format. He has not been taking wickets that often. There is an issue of catches being dropped of his bowling but that again is not an excuse.
Amir bowling is good but he is not getting wickets. His spells in New Zealand were good as well but they did not take wicket. Now he has taken three right at the start of the game. So for Pakistan it is a good day. The pink ball has swing for Amir and as a result he has taken some wickets here as well. Pakistan is going well here in their opening game.

Junaid Khan 3 wickets VS Dhaka Dynamites, BPL 2016

December 06, 2016
Left arm pace bowler Junaid Khan is having some quality time in Bangladesh Premier League. Junaid has picked up a cluster of wickets in the event so far. He is one of the leading wicket takers in the event as well. He has taken three here in the match against Dhaka Dynamites and still has got two overs in the bag.

These performances from Junaid have done a great deal towards his cricket in Pakistan as well. Now people have started questioning on his absence from the Pakistan team. Junaid has not been selected for the Pakistan team for a good period now. But there is a reason that he was not selected.
If we look at his bowling performances in the recent past he has not done much. Even in the previous National T20 championship in Pakistan he was below average. But now it seems he has found his lost form. He has performed well now and should be given a chance now.

The first wicket for Mehdi Maruf. Now this was a wavered ball outside the off stump. Maruf should have left it alone instead of chasing this one. There was a serious pace behind it and hence the chance of an edge coming out was always there.
Once the edge was produced Pooran had the easiest of catches to make. Next was the big one from Junaid. Sangakkara was looking in a ravishing form with the bat but Junaid got him on the leg side. This was a lucky wicket for Junaid.
Sanga hit this one perfectly from the middle of the bat but straight to the only man standing outside the ring on the leg side. The fielder was placed at deep backward square leg and he did not have to move an inch to take this catch. Sanga found him perfectly.
The third wicket so far for Junaid was Lewis. The left hander went for a pull against a short ball but only edged it high into the skies and this time Pooran takes a ripper. It was not an easy catch at all. He had to run backwards and then take this one over his head.

Junaid Khan 3 wickets VS Dhaka Dynamites, BPL 2016

December 04, 2016
Junaid Khan bowled a superb spell in the middle of the innings for Khulna Titans. His overs changed the course of the game as he took 3 wickets. All these wickets were pretty important and that did not let the Dhaka side take much runs at the end.

Junaid picked up Shakib, Prasanna and Bopara. Now we can clearly see that these three names are big hitters of the cricket ball. They were taken by some good balls by Junaid. He surely has given his presence felt for sure.
